On Shallow People

It is so dispiriting and painful to accept it, but some people are just so shallow, so superficial and so hollow that they are almost useless to the greater good of existence.

Basically, they don’t contribute to an ounce of evolution, an iota of wisdom, or a grain of happiness to this world.

Normally, when you happen to meet them, you feel drained, disturbed, and horrified because you wonder how can they be called a human being?.

And after you go your separate ways, you keep on thinking that, except for the capacity of using words for communication and few other surviving factors, they are as good as vegetables, actually, not even that, because vegetables are a source of nourishment.

But, despite all that, no matter how dreary such a scenario may be, it serves a few purposes, as follows:

First, it clearly shows that evolution is not a uniform process.

Secondly, it can teach you how not to be, or how not to behave.

Moreover, if you have the strength, it can awaken your hopeful and compassionate feelings so that you can treat them with love, dignity and freedom, despite the almost uncontrollable inner urge to judge and ignore them, which happens very frequently. And, in doing so, you may be a source of inspiration to them.

Besides, and most importantly, it is essential to understand that someone else’s shallowness does not have to dictate who you are, nor how you handle yourself because, at any given time, if you can recognize the presence of frivolousness, or the absence of uplifting values in somebody else, it does not mean that you have to imitate them.

Finally, beware of them for they are plenty, boisterous, and unembarrassed.
