Maturity is a Choice

Maturity is a choice, it does not happen naturally, like ageing. In the canvas of life, maturity is an option that can be vividly and beautifully painted by anyone, which means that, somewhere down the line, somehow based on the societal pillars available and the prevailing conditions of one’s surrounding, there lies a fascinating possibility of choosing to grow up, of selecting the course of action that will allow the individual to rid himself from the clutches of childish thinking and behavior and step into a fantastic new world of advanced perceptions, broader horizons and bigger goals. Unquestionably, this is not a onetime endeavor, but it is a recurring activity that a person chooses to undertake. In modern times, unlike ancient traditions, most societies no longer have any specific ritual that would put the person in contact with situations or scenarios that would allow him to jump from the existing level of maturity to a higher awareness of life as well as his role within this higher dimension. Naturally, the absence of this opportunity makes the process a little harder, or more challenging; however, the possibility still exists for everyone because life will eventually demand it from us, especially when a person broadens his views and perspectives on life. Therefore, in spite of the predominant habits of any society, maturity is a special oracle that any individual can choose to access aiming to increase his individual consciousness and maturity.
